UK to Amsterdam

 Tuesday 14th October

An earlyish start, leaving Flinstone cottage at 7 am in the morning, the trees have really started changing colour now, I was taken in to the airport to say our farewells, a little upsetting, Ronda and Tim have been such lovely hosts and put a lot of time and effort into my holiday, I was so lucky.

Flight to Amsterdam went without a hitch, I got the wrong lift down to the train station as ended up on wrong platform, but that was easily fixed, and my hotel is this far from the Central station.

That greedy building with the pinkish square on it is the Ibis hotel, when coming into the station I saw the hotel was built over one of the train lines. Although my room wasn’t ready, I left my bags and went for a walk around, trying to miss the crazy bicycles.

Looking along the canal and then looking back to the railway station it is an impressive building with lots of gold bits!

I wandered through some streets in from there, past cafes and wafts of weed, until I found a restaurant for lunch. I had a yummy salad with goats cheese, olives, walnuts, couscous,, cucumber, green beans, tomatoes, red onion, and a lemonade, this was my view

Will have to find out what it is? That may have been the sunniest part of the day! I wandered further.

Made my way back to the hotel, the room wasn’t ready still not ready, so I was given a voucher for a drink at the bar, I will save that for when I feel like a drink! Finally got my room, it was worth waiting for, on the 7th floor and looking out over the city.

Walked to a supermarket for some food, only about a km down the street from my hotel, then settling in for the night.

Good night!
