Saturday 1st June Barcelona to Paris

Very comfortable seat on the top level of the TGV Inoui train today! After braving Barcelona Sants station  and working out where to go it was nice to sit down and relax, We had a few delays on the track today so ended up being 490 minutes late into Paris, it was probably that last half hour when I’d had enough , but really recommend the journey. I started off thinking I wouldn’t take any photo’s and then… I Did! The country side was quite stunning and one part there we seemed to be going right along the edge of an estuary - I’ll Just put some of my best shots in

Quite like the refinery… to look at

I saw some flamingos but was too late with the camera - there may be one in the foreground of this photo???

And then there was the odd castle thrown in

Big river !

Cold, wet and grey in Gay Paris, the weather gradually deteriorated as we got further north. Enjoyed the ride from station to hotel, I think I may prefer Paris to Barcelona, Driver pointed out monuments for the Bastille and the Place de la Republique, told me a restaurant I should try and a pastry I should ask for.

The hotel I’m in is very quirky, I’m on the fifth floor, not an interesting outlook, but was given the choice of spiral stairs or lift, the lift is big enough for one and a suitcase, so managed to squeeze myself in with back pack on, but my room speaks for itself, Bijou! Note the different coloured curtains - velvet they are!!

Quite like being called Madam (said like you are posh) Well rest time before hitting the streets tomorrow! Fingers crossed for dryer weather.

  2. I found it hard not to love Paris, even though we were told by many it was gross and dirty. Hope you are enjoying some pastries and fine art x
