Monday 20th May Granada to Ronda
Granada is a lovely city, sad to leave so soon, but more adventures ahead
This mountain they call El Indienne - not sure if that’s is spelt correctly but it has the profile of a mans face lying down - I think it looked a bit better a wee bit further back. Along with fields of solar panels and the ever present olives, we saw a good mix of crops, asparagus, barley, wheat, sunflowers - unfortunately not in flower yet. But also wind farms
Because we were keeping good time we had a diversion to a place called Sentenil de las Bodegas were the houses and now restaurants are built into/under the rock
Might be nice and cool in summer but don’t fancy it in wintertime! Then on again to Ronda a hilltop village, a quick walk around the cliff top to see the lay of the land
This one is looking straight down, not a nice sensation!
There is a bullring in Ronda, we could see into it from a rooftop bar where we stopped for lunch, a lot of Spain has outlawed it but there are still some events in the South of Spain as in Ronda, don’t fancy watching that kind of cruelty and blood - poor bulls! This is about as close as I want to get!

After checking in. To hotel I for a walk around the shops and a tried some different viewpoints, setting and the view are Spectacular. At 6.30 we all met up for a Flamenco Guitar concert/demonstration by Emilio Caracafe a self taught guitarist from Seville, he grew up in difficult circumstances, and now teaches underprivileged children guitar, it is a fund raising event - it was brilliant. If you look closely at the below picture there is a flag in front of the middle dark tree on top of the cliff - that was the venue Casa Don Bosco - a priest who looked after children, there is a Society set up that carries on his works … starts with S and the building was left to that Society. There was a building for sale along that street by Sothebys so can only imagine the value.
